Becky called me out of the blue this afternoon and asked what I was doing for supper. She was in Regina with a friend and wanted to see me and Deron. We decided to go to Spices of Punjab and the food was FANTASTIC. Deron and Becky like spicy food, so we got super spicy vindaloo as well as some less spicy butter chicken, rice, veggies, and much more. Unfortunately I tried some of the vindaloo and it made my nose run and my mouth burn. All the rest of the food tasted super spicy until I was able to get rid of the vindaloo taste. Despite that burning sensation, the food was still GREAT and I would recommend it to everyone.
I hope Becky comes back to visit again soon because with her living in Meadow Lake I sure do miss her.

Nicky is a big suck. He loves to come up on the sofa and cuddle with me and/or Deron. I love the comfort of sitting on the couch, watching tv and petting my dog.

I finished my beach bag! I totally love it. I hope that it won't stretch too much once it is filled with wet towels and beach toys, but only time will tell. I am sure I will get lots of use out of it at Coldwell this year. And it was a great way to get some use out of some t-shirts that I would never wear again.
It has a drawstring and handles, so it can be used in a couple of different ways. This is really the first thing I have ever crocheted, so it's even more exciting to have completed a project like this.

I am off work on Mondays, and it's a good think I was home this Monday because there was LOTS of snow to clear. It was actually kind of fun to be outside shoveling because I saw 4 other people out at the same time. It was a bit of a winter community gathering. :)
The guy on the corner used his snowblower to clear most of the block across the street, too bad he didn't come across to my side ;)

It snowed ALL day today. I cuddled up in the basement with a fire, but I did have to go out briefly. thankfully I only got the car stuck once. while we were outside Deron and I thought it would be a good idea to shove some snow, and Nicky had a great time playing in the show that is as deep as he is tall.

We went out for Robbie Burns night and had a really good time, even though we were all r-e-a-l-l-y tired. by the end of the night, as Crystal and I were waiting impatiently for chocolate cake I started getting giddy and tried to throw ice into Deron's beer. He wanted to make sure he protected it from being diluted.

The No Prorogation rally had a GREAT turnout. We counted over 350 people, even though the local media reported either over 100 or nearly 200 depending on the media outlet. Thankfully, not all of the national coverage was was as biased as it was in Regina.
These photos are from the set up before the rally. I didn't get any from the actual event because I was MCing.
Here are some of the links to the media coverage across the country.

I love when the cat dishes are empty and we fill them up again both cats come racing up and eat side by side.
Nicky always wants to eat, so it's not such an unusual photo, but I like having a photo of all three of our pets.

Nicky loves sleeping on the futon when Deron and I are downstairs.
I tired to sneak around and get a picture of him, but he was curious about the noise.
"oh, it's just you. Now back to relaxing."

I have been getting much craftier recently and doing more than just making cards and scrapbooking. I have started reading www.craftster.org and there are sooooo many neat ideas and projects that I got inspired to use up some of my old t-shirts that I am never going to wear again.
This is the start of a beach bag that is being made with t-shirt "yarn".
Rosie had to come and check it out.
I also made a scarf/necklace out of t-shirt yarn. It's awesome!

Deron and I had a fire tonight, and Deron wanted to see what would happen if we put gummy bears in the fire.
After they melted, they looked kind of like this.

Somehow I missed taking a photo today. I have no idea how that happened so I guess I will have to go an extra day in this journey.

This was the CRAZY scene today. It was melting even though it's the middle of January. You can see the huge pile of snow in the parking lot, and the huge puddle of water at the corner.

I was cooking perogies for supper and one escaped my grip and skirted across the floor in the kitchen. Nicky is always nearby when I am cooking because I have a bad habit of dropping things on the floor. This time he was rewarded with a frozen perogie.

Deron was confused with the individual cheese that wasn't in string form.
After our grocery shopping, and trip to bulk barn Deron decided to conquer the snow hill.

My two favourite guys :)
I was waiting for the bus today after work and was wishing that I had my camera with me to take photos of everyone supper bundled up while they were waiting for the bus. It was -40 with the wind chill, but everyone was still out and about. In Saskatchewan, the cities don't shut down for cold weather. Unfortunately, I had my camera at home so that photo op was missed.
I guess, though, it's not a bad thing to start off this journey with a photo of Deron and Nicky.

A photo a day for a year
I am starting a week late, but better late than never.
A couple of months ago I contemplated the idea of taking a photo a day for a whole year to document what has been going on in my life. I think it would also help me to remember to take photos and to encourage me to do more scrapbooking because I would have so many photos to choose from.
Today I was reading a message board about people that had tried, completed, or were contemplating the 365 project, and I decided that I was going to jump right in.
So here we are. Starting tomorrow, January 8, 2010 I will take a minimum of one photo a day for 365 days. I will upload one photo a day to this blog so that you can join me in this adventure.
